Abstract

After attaining independence, recognition of the contribution of women in diverse fields has been relatively better. Increasing number and role of women active in industries, business and other fields is emerging from the fact that the participation and advancement of women in Indian society is increasing. Along with the achievements of women in education and employment, as well as the neglect of their role in politics has not been completed, but their number continues to increase every year. The status of women in Indian society has fluctuated considerably from time to time. Despite this, women have put up their success flags at every post of the country. Mrs. Indira Gandhi became the first Prime Minister of the country, then Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil is the first woman President of the country and the supreme commander of the Indian military forces. Similarly, Kalpana Chawla, Indira Nooyi, Kiran Bedi, Kiran Mazumdar etc. can be seen as growing evidence of women's participation in many areas of society.
